Grow Strong Foundation (GSF) is a child-focused women and youth-led non-profit organization established in 2017. GSF is providing humanitarian assistance to children, IDPs, and other highly vulnerable people in collaboration with the Norwegian Refugee Council in northeastern Nigeria. As part of our commitment to achieving the objectives of our strategic plan, GSF is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the vacant position.
Position: Project Coordinator
Location : Borno (MMC, Jere)
Reporting: Program Manager
Languages Required:  English & Hausa

The project coordinator will be responsible for fostering collaboration among staff in the organizations, overseeing project implementation, and ensuring adherence to donor requirements and deadlines. The coordinator will be the central point of contact for all project-related communication and will play a key role in representing the project to external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities: Communication and Collaboration

 Facilitate regular communication between all project partners, including project leads, technical staff, and administrative teams.

 Organize and manage project meetings, ensuring clear agendas, productive discussions, and timely circulation of minutes.

 Foster a collaborative environment where all partners feel comfortable sharing information, raising concerns, and working together effectively.

 Act as a central point of contact for all project-related communication. Project Management:

 Oversee the overall implementation of the project, ensuring activities are delivered as per the agreed-upon work plan and timeline.

 Monitor progress against project objectives, budget, and donor requirements.  Identify and address any challenges or obstacles that may arise during project implementation.

 Coordinate resource allocation (financial, human, logistical) on the project to ensure efficient project execution. Reporting and Documentation:

 Develop and maintain a comprehensive project management system for tracking progress, recording data and documenting activities.

 Compile and consolidate regular progress reports from each staff, ensuring high quality and adherence to donor reporting guidelines.  Prepare and submit timely final reports to the donor and other relevant stakeholders.

 Maintain a central repository for all project documents and ensure proper archiving procedures.

 Oversee risk management and mitigation strategies for the project.

 Support the development and implementation of project monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks Financial Management  Coordinate financial reporting and ensure compliance with donor financial regulations.

Representation and External Relations:

 Represent the project in meetings with donors, government agencies, and other external stakeholders.

 Advocate for the project’s interests and ensure project visibility among relevant actors.

 Build and maintain positive relationships with donors and other stakeholders to secure continued support for the project.

 Represent GSF in meetings with donors and other relevant agencies/partners at the state level, giving adequate feedback to the organization, beneficiaries, and donor members. Qualifications

 A Master’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Project Management, Public Administration, or a related social science field (preferred).

 Minimum 4 years of experience in project coordination, preferably within the NGO sector.  Proven experience working on complex projects funded by international donors

 Strong understanding of project management principles and experience working in a collaborative environment.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.

 Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively, including planning, budgeting, monitoring, and evaluation.

 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

 Proficiency in project management software, communication tools, and donor reporting platforms.
